FRAMING STORIES

FRAMING STORIES

The vision. The purpose.

An Dirella

Photographer. Visual consultant.

An(namaria) Dirella is a queer visual storyteller and photographer based in Berlin.

Her work centers on queer lives and stories that resist easy definitions — narratives often unseen, unheard, or uncelebrated. From intimate portraits and underground music scenes to urban solitude and vibrant festivals, Anna’s photography explores identity, presence, and resistance with aesthetic sensitivity and a commitment to underrepresented voices.

With a lifelong passion for both photography and music, Anna’s visual storytelling is deeply informed by her background in set design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and photography at IED Milan. She has worked across Europe, capturing authentic moments and stories in diverse cultural contexts.

Alongside her creative work, Anna is Head of Product Operations at iMusician Digital, where she supports independent artists in amplifying their music and presence on their own terms.

My purpose is to uplift, illuminate, and safeguard stories that challenge the usual narrative. With thoughtful intention and care, I create visuals that honor the beauty and authenticity of queer experiences.

I also curate HEAR ME ROAR — a regularly updated, cross-genre playlist from independent queer artists, created to increase the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community.
It’s a celebration of unapologetically empowering voices, and a space to discover new sounds beyond the mainstream.
