Given the complexity of film distribution, and its commitment to balancing the economic and the artistic, festivals remain an indispensable platform: often the only place where new voices and formal experimentation can find space.

Visionär focuses on first-time feature filmmakers, supporting directors who are not afraid to break narrative structures and demonstrate aesthetic originality.

The festival presents new talents from around the world whose debut works are daring, original and visionary.

These photographs were taken during the Berlin edition, following the atmosphere of the screenings, the audience and the quiet rituals around independent cinema.
